Basic Electricity Part 2

March 26 - Scranton/ Wilkes-Barre, PA
The majority of service calls encountered by the HVAC technician are electrical in nature. Having a thorough understanding of electricity is vital to the HVAC Technician. This class is designed to give the HVAC technician the tools needed to troubleshoot electrical systems by giving them a basic and practical understanding of electrical theory as it pertains to the HVAC field. This is an excellent class for technicians of all levels and experiences. MEIER UNIVERSITY
LG VRF INSTALLATION & SERVICE CLASS

March 26-28 - Conklin, NY
Ed Brink of Meier Supply will present this class. This is an exclusive Meier Supply LG Training Academy class which incorporates lab exercises created by Meier Supply. Upon completion of the 3 day class, participants gain the knowledge to properly install and service LG VRF systems and will receive a Factory Certification for both MLV01 and MLV03 classes. This class also incorporates lab exercises. You will receive copies of the presentations including the lab exercise workbook. Upon completion, participants gain the knowledge to properly install and service LG VRF systems. Participants will receive a Factory Certification for both MLV01 and MLV03 classes.
The class outline is: Day 1 (Installation Essentials): You will learn the manufacture’s guidelines for the correct outdoor and indoor unit positioning, piping, and wiring of the LG VRF equipment. Installation specifications and set-up of the LG accessories and controls will also be covered. Utilizing classroom time and hands-on lab exercises, students will gain knowledge of what needs to be completed before commissioning can take place. During lab activities, students will be introduced to LGMV (LG Monitoring View Software) which is the tool that must be used to evaluate system performance. This session will help to ensure that the LG VRF equipment is correctly installed for long term reliability and performance.
Days 2 & 3 (Multi V 5 Advanced Service): You will learn the relationship between the major components and what part they play in proper system operation with an emphasis on an overview of the electrical and refrigerant circuits. With the use of the LGMV service tool and using traditional service tools, technicians will learn to record and interpret data for making system evaluations. Lab exercises are designed to address the issues commonly found in the field giving the student a guideline for efficiently troubleshooting system problems. The hands-on portion of the class will be conducted with tools supplied by JB Industries and Fieldpiece.

Dave Fletcher from Ruud will present this course which is designed to train technicians on proper installation, diagnostics, and service procedures of the Ruud Renaissance roof top units.
The course will cover installation and setup procedures for base systems as well as variable frequency drives and economizers.
Advanced topics covered include: ► Adjusting Airflow ► Components Testing ► Flame Current Testing ► Testing Vent Pressure Switches ► More System Diagnostics Students will be able to use these skills on our working mobile roof top unit.

Chuck Gaylord from Meier Supply will lead this training program, which explores the many aspects of installing, servicing, and diagnosing single heat pump systems. Installing procedures discuss location selection, proper refrigerant line sizing, refrigerant line installation, and evaporator coil installation.
